Expert Training Session on “Reading and Understanding Financial Records from a GST Perspective” at NACIN, Kolkata

On August 14, 2024, we had the privilege of conducting two specialized training sessions at the National Academy of Customs, Indirect Taxes, and Narcotics (NACIN), Kolkata, as guest faculty. These sessions were part of the Induction Training Program designed for over 60 newly recruited Inspectors of CGST & CX, equipping them with essential skills for effective tax administration.

Led by our partner, Ishan Tulsian, the training focused on analyzing financial records through a GST lens, helping officers understand financial statements, key financial indicators, and compliance risks. Our objective was to provide them with the expertise required to interpret financial data accurately, detect tax irregularities, and strengthen GST enforcement efforts.

The sessions featured real-world case studies, interactive discussions, and practical insights, ensuring a hands-on learning experience. Participants engaged in critical analysis of financial documents, gaining valuable knowledge on how businesses structure their financial records and the common tax compliance challenges they might encounter.
